Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2671 and American Legion Post 280, both of Benton, will commemorate Veterans Day Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Veterans Memorial located at the Benton Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m.
The group will perform the traditional 21-gun salute, and the flag will be lowered to half-staff. "Taps" will be played. State Rep. Dave Severin will be the guest speaker.
This is the second year that the Veterans Memorial is located at the cemetery south of town. These memorials were moved in October 2016 due to the relocation of Benton City Hall.
The group will also perform salutes at the Benton Civil War cemetery behind the American Legion Hall.
A light lunch of chili and hotdogs will be served at the American Legion following the ceremony, provided by Helia of Benton.
The public is invited to show support the veterans and their families.
