The Chester High School Athletic Department recently kicked off its 2017-18 sports fundraiser with an assembly of all fall and winter athletes.
New CHS Athletic Director Jeremy Blechle was joined by Kody White of Adrenaline Fundraising of Chesterfield, Mo. The pair introduced the details of this school year's all-sports fundraiser, which is the sale of the popular "Gold Card" discount cards, which was held last year as well.
"The sale of these cards is a win-win-win for everyone," White told the athletes. "Parents and other customers save money through the use of the cards.
"It also benefits local businesses and the athletic department makes money to help fund CHS sports groups."
Each athlete has been asked to try to sell at least 10 Gold Cards at the price of $20 apiece. The cards are good for one school year and won't expire until July 31, 2018.
The Gold Card features 23 local and area businesses that offer discounts for a wide variety of goods and services on a daily basis. Most of these "deals" are offered on an indefinite basis.
Only one item listed on the back of the card is a one-time-only deal.
"In addition to the 24 discount deals listed on the back of the card, there are two big deals listed on a tear-off tab connected to the card itself," White said. "Dick's Sporting Goods offers $10 off of an in-house purchase of $50 or more, and Casey's Pizza offers a free medium one-topping pizza with the purchase of a large specialty pizza."
Businesses that offer unlimited use of the card include Tequilas, Beef O'Bradys, The Wayward Pub, Bert's Auto Service, Burger King, Dairy Queen, Domino's, Jodi's Ol' Farmhouse Café and Bakery, McDonald's, Reid's Harvest House and other businesses.
Customers can purchase as many Gold Cards as they desire.Payment can be made with cash or checks.
All checks should be made out to CHS.
All of the various fall and winter sports groups are engaging in a "friendly" competition to see which group can sell the most cards. The group that wins will be given $100 as a bonus for a team dinner.
Individual athletes will also have incentives offered by Adrenaline Fundraising. All athletes that sell their initial 10 cards will receive two free cards that they can sell or use at their discretion.
They also receive a free Chester Yellow Jacket T-shirt.
Those who sell more than 20 cards receive additional free apparel. All profits made via the sale of the cards will go towards to help fund and support Chester High School sports.
Anyone with questions regarding the fundraiser can call Kody White at 618-772-6264 or Jeremy Blechle at 618-826-2302.
