MARION - Sweatin' for a good cause. That's what Marion High School football players and members of the Marion Rotary Club were doing Wednesday in the 100-degree heat. They were donating their time to help build a Habitat for Humanity home on the 400 block of North Washington Street for a family of four.

Sixteen players from the Wildcats squad participated in the project, unloading dozens of pieces of sheetrock and hauling it inside the home. MHS head football coach Kerry Martin said he was pleased with the turnout.

"The community gives a lot to our team. People here are very supportive of our fundraisers and come to our games. So, we're always looking for ways to give back."

Martin said it's important that teens get involved in their community at an early age.

"If for no other reason than it's the right thing to do," he said. "It should feel good to help out a family in need. And I think our kids really enjoyed helping out today."
