Chicago pair injured in I-57 crash

A pair of Chicago travelers sustained injuries Friday evening after their vehicle overturned several times on Interstate 57 in Franklin County.
Illinois State Police District 13 reports that troopers responded around 11:15 p.m. July 14 to a crash on I-57 southbound at mile post 68 in Franklin County.
There, the preliminary investigation revealed that a 2000 Honda CRV driven by Imani Williams, 19, had traveled off the right shoulder and into a ditch, where it overturned several times. Injured were Williams and a passenger, 19-year-old Cayla King, both of them of Chicago. They were taken to a nearby hospital.
Williams was cited for improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
