It's not too late to join in the fun at the Du Quoin Public Library's Summer Reading Program.

Library Director Kristina Benson would be happy to take completed registration forms and get more names on the list of children who are keeping track of their reading time this summer.

There are lots of fun events going on at the library this summer, too. Storytimes and craft times are at 10 a.m. Saturdays, and movie night begins at 5 p.m. Monday, June 19. Children in the "Reading Rockets" group meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 20.

Coming in July will be live animal educational program "Animal Tales" July 13 and the Bubble Bus July 27. The reading program will end Monday, Aug. 21, the day of the total solar eclipse.

Benson and her staff will be handing out eclipse glasses that day starting at 12:30 p.m. They will have have 1,000 pairs of glasses, but get there early to make sure you get yours before the show starts.
