"Relay for Life" held in Benton

  • Peggy McClintock, Verneda McEndree and Kathy Storey were part of the Mid-Country Bank team that raised just over $400 for the Franklin County Relay for Life, which was held Saturday at the Benton Civic Center. The team sold 'cupcakes' for the bank windows, among other things to do their part for the annual event.

  • Several teams were set up at the Relay for Life event to bring in last-minute cash for their team.  'There's no place like hope' offered several culinary treats including Italian beef sandwiches and cake pops. Theresa Bates, who has organized the event for the past decade, said donations will becoming in through the end of July.
