The 14th-annual Christopher Homecoming was a success by most measures, especially the critical one of weather that affects any outdoor venue.

Nice sunshine and moderate temperatures gave attendees three days of pleasurable competition, great food, talented entertainment and renewed friendships from folks coming to town.

The 5K walk/run had a great turnout, the car show was huge and impressive, and the bocce and washer tourneys were fierce and friendly. Breakfast by the Lions Club had a big, steady crowd, and the All Class Reunion grew from last year. The CHS class of 1977 gathered this year at the Columbian Club Saturday evening for their 40-year reunion.

All in all, the Homecoming Committee was pleased with attendance, with the possible exception that they would like to increase attendance at the free entertainment on the Main Stage.

The entertainment daily and nightly in the beer tent drew great crowds who were wowed by the new, permanent facility. Planners, who already added volleyball competition this year, already are looking forward to next year to grow the party and celebrate 15 years of Homecoming.
