Candidates sought for District 300 seat

Du Quoin Community Unit School District 300 is seeking candidates to fill an empty seat on the board of education.
Letters of intent will be accepted through noon June 19 for candidates to fill the seat formerly held by John Vancil, whose term runs until April 2019. Individuals must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of the state of Illinois and District 300 for at least one year, at least 18 years of age, a registered voter and live outside Township 6-1.
The letter of intent should be limited to one page and contain a statement of qualifications to serve including educational background, work history and what the individual would bring to the board as a prospective member and district stakeholder.
Letters should be submitted to Minerva Fred, district administrative secretary, at the central office at 845 E. Jackson St.
