Summer fun starting up at Benton Library

Area youngsters looking for something to do during summer break can certainly find it at the Benton Public Library.

The Summer Reading Program kicks off on June 8. It will feature a different topic each week with hands-on activities and snacks. The program is held from 1 to 3 p.m. every Thursday through July 13.

The latest raffle at the library features Legos and Gabriela, the newest American Girl doll. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. The drawing will be held July 14.

Every Wednesday at 10 a.m., the library holds "Story Time." This is a popular program that introduces young readers to a variety of books and topics.

The library hosts its own version of "technology for dummies" with its "Tech Support with Joe." Joe, the library's resident tech guru, is available on a varied schedule to answer questions and assist with computer/Kindle-related questions. Call or check the library website for a schedule.

The library will host a model rocket building class this Saturday, June 3 and June 17. Call the library for details. Those interested can register at the desk.
