Pinckneyville Chamber, school hold 'career buffet'

The Pinckneyville Chamber of Commerce and counselors at Pinckneyville Community High School played host to a "career buffet" Friday, April 28.
Students from the eighth-grade feeder schools up to the PCHS sophomore class were broken up into 13 groups and rotated in 15-minute increments to all of the career rooms.
Speakers included Sue Endres and Rose Cartwright for medical coding, Paul Nehrkorn for cyber-security; entrepreneur Tom Harness, WSIL anchor Kevin Hunsperger, Jaci Kelly and Evan Sutton for dispatch and EMTs, Trish Francis for interior design, Jefferson Defago for fitness, Miles Priebe for nursing and hospital providers, Clinton Bigham of the FBI, Eugene Talley for automotive, Sara Rezba for child advocacy, Bill Bender and John Mayer for farming, Alyssa Schmale for pharmaceuticals, and Maddie Sattler for news and broadcasting.
Special speakers also were arranged for the junior class.
