Franklin Hospital Auxiliary doles out scholarships

  • Bryan Hubner from the Franklin Hospital Laboratory received the Ellen Sawyer Scholarship from Anna Marie Giacone, chair of the Auxiliary scholarship committee, during last week's meeting. The scholarship goes to a hospital employee. Hubner is a phlebotomist currently employed at the hospital. He will be entering the medical lab technician program in the fall through John A. Logan College and Southern Illinois Collegiate Common Market. 'There are many MLT job opportunities nationwide due to a shortage of those technicians,' said Judy Courter, lab director at Franklin Hospital. 'Bryan is actually one of my employees, and I am very proud he has chosen to go into this profession.'
