Grand Marshals embodied spirit of Water Festival

When nominations began rolling in for this year's Rend Lake Water Festival Parade Grand Marshal, two names stood out to those on the committee.
"We had a lot of great nominations, but going with our theme of 'Communities Moving Forward,' John Huffman and Dave Cooper just embodied the spirit we were trying to convey," said Karen Mullins, Benton/West City Area Chamber of Commerce executive director.
Huffman is chairman of the Franklin County Economic Development Committee. Cooper is executive director of that same committee.
"They do a lot to help foster and provide opportunities for business here," Mullins said.
The Saturday morning parade, which highlights the festival, had around 90 entries.
