Benton woman seriously injured in crash

A Benton woman sustained major injuries in a traffic crash early Thursday morning on Illinois 37.
Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones says a 2006 Pontiac driven by Lorissa M. Mocaby, 23, of Benton was traveling southbound on Illinois 37 just north of Bowling Alley Road around 1:03 a.m. May 11 when Mocaby failed to negotiate a curve. Mocaby apparently ran off the left side of the road, entered a ditch and struck a concrete culvert.
Mocaby received what the sheriff's office classified as "major injuries," and she was transported to an Evansville-area hospital for treatment.'
The crash remains under investigation.
