The following incidents were obtained from Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones. Note that arrests/charges are allegations only, not findings of guilt.

April 25
A traffic stop at 10:25 a.m. in West Frankfort resulted in the arrest of Chad A. Turley, 27 of Zeigler for possession of methamphetamine; and Kristen M. Tindall, 36, of Herrin for possession of drug paraphernalia.

April 28
Deputies responded at 9:09 p.m. to a single-vehicle crash on Deering Road half a mile south of Ruembler Crossing. A 2016 GMC pickup driven by Robert E. Barnett, 53, of Elkville was southbound, failed to negotiate a curve and exited the roadway, striking a road sign and coming to rest in about 5 feet of water. The driver received minor injuries but refused medical treatment.

April 30
Deputies responded at 4:16 a.m. to a domestic dispute in rural Thompsonville. The investigation led to the arrest of Zoie P. Crain, 23, of Benton for criminal damage to property.

May 2
Deputies responded at 12:05 p.m. to a single-vehicle crash on Sugar Creek Road, 1 mile north of Petroff Road. A 1998 Saturn driven by Adrian P. Rodriguez, 19, of Benton was northbound when he lost control, ran off the roadway and overturned in a deep creek bed. Rodriguez sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital. He was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

May 3
Deputies responded at 4:48 p.m. to a vehicle crash on Highway 154 at the intersection with Gun Creek Trail. A 1991 Ford Escort driven by Aaron M. Spohn, 21, of West Frankfort was traveling westbound 154 before performing a u-turn at the intersection with Gun Creek Trail, turning into the path of an eastbound 1995 Lincoln Continental driven by Gloria I. Holland, 73, of Sesser. Holland sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital by Abbott E.M.S. Spohn was not injured, but was cited for failure to yield right of way.

May 4
Franklin County investigators, assisted by Deputy U.S. Marshals, arrested Michael L. Hobbs, 40, of Sesser. Hobbs has been charged with two counts of child pornography, two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, one count of indecent solicitation of a child, and one count of grooming. Bond has been set at $500,000. The victim in the case is 15 years old. The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are possible.

WARRANT ARRESTS

April 25
Gregory T. Simmons, 50, of Marion was arrested for failure to appear on a felony DUI charge.

April 27
Jacob R. Minton, 33, of Johnston City was arrested for failure to appear on a battery charge.
Charles B. Wampler, 51, of Benton was arrested for failure to appear on felony domestic battery charges.

April 28
Alonzo C. Williams, 29, of Benton was arrested for failure to appear on criminal damage to property charges.

May 1
Thomas R. Parshudie, 25, of Murphysboro was arrested for violation of probation.
Keri L. Case, 36, of Carmi was arrested for felony retail theft.

May 3
Anthony M. Morefield, 26, of Royalton was arrested for failure to appear on a drug paraphernalia charge.
Donavon E. Poe, 21, of West Frankfort was arrested for failure to appear on an unlawful consumption of alcohol charge.
Rhiannon S. Shuman, 38, of Logan was arrested for a permitting truancy.
