"Wild Bill," a short documentary by local filmmakers Ethan Talley and Zach Xanders, will premiere at the Shawnee Shorts Midwestern Film Festival in Murphysboro this weekend.
The film, which traces a day in the life of local icon William Reinschmidt, is scheduled to show during the 6 to 7 p.m. slot.
"It should show at 6:20," Talley said.
The first-ever Shawnee Shorts Film Festival celebrates filmmakers from the Midwest region of the United States exploring the short film format. The festival will be held at the historic Liberty Theater beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 15.
The pair of filmmakers followed "Wild Bill" on his adventures through Benton, West Frankfort, Sesser and even to Herrin to visit his girlfriend. The film currently can be seen online as well.
