Poet to do reading in Pinckneyville

The Pinckneyville Public Library will kick off National Poetry Month at 7 p.m. tonight, April 3 with a poetry reading by David Gross.
Gross will read from his latest book, "Little Egypt." Gross is the author of five collections of poetry, "Little Egypt" (Flutter Press, 2017), "Pilgrimage" (Finishing Line Press, 2009), "Because It Is" (tel-let, 2005), "What We Never Had" (tel-let, 2004), and "Cup of Moon" (Bull Thistle Press, 2000). He has published work in journals such as, Big Muddy, Blue Collar Review, Cape Rock, Common Ground Review, Kentucky Review, Modern Haiku, Naugatuck River Review, Poppy Road Review, and Snowy Egret.
He retired after 35 years as a union journeyman carpenter and construction foreman. He and his wife Linda are the parents of three grown children and four grandchildren.
