Benton Consolidated High School will hold an orientation for all incoming ninth grade students and their parents from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 23.
"Students and parents should enter through the front doors where they will be greeted by our freshman mentors," said Mackenzie Martin, BCHS guidance counselor. The mentors will hand out folders with registration information.
The evening will begin with a presentation in the east gym that will cover such topics as attendance programs, tutoring and school nurse services, athletic eligibility, driver's education, graduation requirements, electives and accessing student grades.
After the orientation program, students and parents are invited to visit with teachers in the various departments and check out the clubs and sports offered at BCHS.
The mentors also will provide tours of the school.
