BENTON -- Billie Doris Stewart Burzynski, 90, passed away at 6:32 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016.

 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25, in Morton and Johnston Funeral Home in Benton. Burial will be in Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 24, at the funeral home.

Memorials honoring Mrs. Burzynski may be made to Rend Baptist Church, where she was a member for more than 70 years.

Billie was born July 22, 1926, in Benton, the daughter of Silas and Ora (Crawford) Stewart. She married John Edward Burzynski on Oct. 9, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, and he preceded her in death in 2008.

Survivors include her son, Ken W. Burzynski and wife, Carmen, of Benton; daughter, Judy Ridgway and husband, Paul, of Sofia, Bulgaria; son, J. Bradley Burzynski and wife, Judy, of Rochelle; and nine beloved grandchildren, Dan (Kelley Shea), Lori Burzynski O’Briant (husband Brandon), Sam Burzynski. Amanda Burzynski Manarang (husband Anthony), Andrew Ridgway (wife Hristina), Zachary Ridgway, Anthony Ridgway, Ben Burzynski (wife Abbie) and Beth Burzynski Veit (husband Kristian.)

Billie also was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren, Collin O’Briant; Corbin Manarang; Avery Jones; Ethan, Hannah, Zoe and Evie Burzynski; Kylie, Bailey and Kirby Veit; and Victor Ridgway.

She was preceded in death by all of her 10 siblings, Betty Jo, Dorothy, Clyde, Wilma, Gene, Gladys, Denzil, Maxine, Jim and Jack.

Billie will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, her selfless servanthood and her fierce love and support of her family. Her special ministry of hospitality blessed family, friends, church, community and even the stranger in their midst. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
