BENTON -- Betty J. Garbo, 90, passed away Thursday evening Sept. 8, 2016, in Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
She was born April 28, 1926, in West Frankfort, the daughter of Marion and Blanche (Schoolcraft) Short.
She married Arthur Garbo on June 11, 1942, and he preceded her in death on May 9, 1988.
Survivors include four children, Larry Garbo and wife Carol of Grayville, Linda Lewis and husband Farrel of Benton, Janie Goss and husband Rick of Ewing and Greta Bryant and husband Doug of Calvert City, Kentucky; grandchildren, Terry Garbo and wife Stacy of Lexington, Ohio, Mike Garbo and wife Vida of Tucson, Arizona, Lisa Wilson and husband Billy of Sesser, Karli Stubblefield and husband Brian of Ewing, Jenna Fleming and husband TJ of Vancouver, Washington, Jimmy Bryant and wife Lorin of Humble, Texas, Andy Bryant of Calvert City, Kentucky, Jimmy Garbo, Jeremy Garbo, DJ Garbo, Larissa Mocaby, Hayley Mocaby and Brooklyn Mocaby; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Rick; grandson, Jeff; two brothers; and one ister.
Memorial services will be at noon Saturday, Nov. 26, in Morton and Johnston Funeral Home in Benton.
