With the post-season fast approaching, the Benton Rangers knew they needed a victory against Massac County in order to have a chance to get into the playoffs.

The strong defensive line did not let its team down Friday night when the Rangers defeated the Massac County Patriots 24-17.

Though the Patriots were able to move the ball into the red zone several times during the game, the Rangers would not allow the home team to cross into the end zone enough to claim victory.

The Rangers also found help in junior quarterback Hamilton Page, who ran that ball over 200 yards throughout the game and made several long passes, including one to senior wide receiver Oliver Davis who stretched to nab the ball while in the end zone.
