Country music superstar Aaron Tippin is coming to Southern Illinois on Saturday, Aug. 13, and the city of Benton will host to the singer and his band mates as they put on a one of a kind show at the Benton Civic Center.

The show is part of a current tour that Tippin is on celebrating his 25th year in the music industry. According to a recent press release, Tippin's shows on this tour are generally an hour and a half in length and feature songs from the entirety of his long-running career. Tippin noted that he still delights in performing on stage and truly appreciates the folks who come out to see him.

Tippin added that he doesn't think of his audience members simply as fans, however; but as members of an extended family.

“They have been so great to me over the years, and they’re still coming out to the shows," he said. "That’s why I still sign autographs every night. I just want to get out there and shake their hand and give them a big hug – just to say thank you. They’re not strangers anymore – they’ve been coming for 25 years.”

In a quarter century in the music industry, Tippin has put out nine studio albums and two compilations--including his most recent compilation CD of the current tour in support of, "Aaron Tippin 25". Those releases have netted him five gold and one platinum album.

Additionally, he has charted more than 30 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including three at No. 1: "There Ain't Nothin' Wrong with the Radio" (1992), "That's as Close as I'll Get to Loving You" (1995), and "Kiss This" (2000), as well as the Top Ten hits "You've Got to Stand for Something", "I Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way", "My Blue Angel", "Working Man's Ph.D", "For You I Will", and "Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly."
