Allen Farris, 25, had requested his bond be lowered from $100,000. Judge Tom Tedeschi denied the motion filed by Farris' attorney, Aaron Hopkins of Benton. The reduction in bond hearing had been set to be heard in late May, but was rescheduled.
Last month, Farris was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child over the age of 5. Those offenses are Class 2 felonies. Farris was also charged with unlawful possession of cannabis between 10 and 30 grams, a Class A misdemeanor.
State's Attorney Evan Owens filed a motion to revoke the defendant's probation. A hearing date on that motion has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. May 19.
Farris was sentenced to 30 months of probation in August 2013, on a burglary charge. He was also ordered to make restitution to the victim and pay a fine.
Online court records indicate Farris pleaded guilty to theft between $500 and $10,000 in January 2013. He was sentenced to six months in jail and probation. Two burglary charges and a residential burglary charge were dismissed in that case.
A jury trial date of June 7 has been established with a pre-trial scheduled at 1:30 p.m. on April 14 and a final pre-trial hearing is scheduled 9:30 a.m. May 26.
