• American Red Cross Blood Drive, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sesser-Valier High School, 4626 State Highway 154, Sesser.
• Free screening (blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and hemoccult), 5 to 7 p.m., Rea Clinic, 4241 State Highway 14, Christopher. No appointment necessary. For additional information, call 724-2401 or 1-800-408-7351.
• The Relay For Life of Franklin County is partnering with local Franklin County restaurants for the first annual Taste of Hope Franklin County. Dine at Anjo's Pizza and Opera House Café in Sesser, La Fiesta and Nostalgic Grill in Benton, and La Fiesta, Miranda's On Main and Triple E Plus Bar-B-Q in West Frankfort from 5 p.m. to close. Twenty percent of the net profit will be donated to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Franklin County.

• Benton Consolidated High School musical, "25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," 7:30 p.m., Rend Lake College Theatre, Ina. Reserve tickets by calling 439-3103.

• Franklin County Spring Child Find Screening, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., West Frankfort Denning Elementary School Pre-K/Family Center.
Saturday, April 17
• USA Dance, 6:30 to 10:30 p.m., Corner Dance Hall, Whittington. Lesson, 7 p.m., by Arnold Downs; dance, 8 to 10:30 p.m. Free refreshments. Come celebrate spring with us. Everyone welcome.
Friday, April 23
• Franklin County Spring Child Find Screening, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Christopher Elementary School Gym Lobby.
Friday, April 30
• Franklin County Spring Child Find Screening, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., Ewing-Northern Grade School Gym.
Saturday, May 1
• West Franklin Historical District & Silkwood Inn Museum is hosting a spaghetti supper, 5 to 6:30 p.m., West Franklin Historical District located at the Old Mulkeytown Grade School, 2130 Schoolhouse Road, Mulkeytown. Supper includes plate of spaghetti, side salad, garlic bread, drink and dessert (chili mac will also be available). Immediately after the spaghetti supper, the district will be hosting music entertainment by Vintage Country Band from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
