CARRIER MILLS -- Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School FFA attended the Agriculture Youth Day presented by Modern Woodmen of America at the Du Quoin State Fair on Aug. 26.

Thirty-one total FFA Teams from across southern Illinois competed in the Farmyard Follies throughout the evening.

This year's events included the crowd favorite tug-of-war, backseat driving (where a student drives a golf cart through an obstacle course blindfolded while another student directs them through the course), tarp folding, the bat race, water balloon toss, hay bale tossing, hay bale stacking, and the shovel race.

Carrier Mills-Stonefort had 20 students compete in the various events, and out of the 31 teams, CMSF earned a third-place finish in the water balloon toss, seventh in the tug-of-war competition, and tied for 10th in the hay bale toss.

FFA Sponsor Darin DeNeal said, "This is a great event and a fun experience for the students to compete in. We are treated well by everyone involved and our students always have a blast."
