CARRIER MILLS -- Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School held its annual talent show on Dec. 18.

Ten students auditioned with Caleb Long, the choir director, to showcase their singing, dancing and speaking skills. These students then earned the opportunity to show off their talent on the high school stage in front of their peers.

Ashton Pearce started the show off by singing "Eyes, Nose, and Lips," by BTS. Freshman Aryanna Guyton then shared her humorous interpretation speech, "Tammy." Sophomore Sami Morris then sang "Natural Woman," freshman Emmalee Fly performed her version of "Cups," and senior Alex Morris sang "Don't Rain on My Parade."

The show continued with Nia Sternberg's informative speech on relevant topics affecting teens today. Sternberg, a junior, discussed poverty, school starting too early in the morning, and gun control. Freshman Anahbeth Leiter and senior Ashton Pearce then sang "Lost Boy," sophomore Bailee Wright covered Rhianna's song "Stay," and senior Jada Barnett performed "I Wouldn't Mind."

The faculty and staff then voted for their top three acts, and the students voted for their favorite as well. Sami Morris and Alex Morris tied for third place, Emmalee Fly won second place, and Bailee Wright was named the talent show champion.
