It's taken two years, but the Christ Our Savior Lutheran High School campus just got another upgrade.

Lindsey Harbaugh and Lexi Luebkemann started a project to collect plastic lids and caps to trade in for a new picnic table and two trash cans.

They started this while they were still students at COSLHS in 2016-17, but stuck with it as alumni to get the job done. Lyndsey is currently serving her county in the Navy and Lexi is a freshman at Lake Land College in Mattoon.

They worked with GreenTree Recycling out of Evansville, Indiana, who has a process of grinding, melting and dying the plastics and turning them into benches, tables and other items.

Last weekend, they drove to Indiana to pick up two picnic tables and two trash can containers. They delivered them to campus just in time to enjoy an outdoor lunch on the first day back to school after Christmas break.

Thank you both for working so hard to see this through and giving the COSLHS campus a lasting gift.

Thanks also to the community for supporting the school and girls by donating lids.
