Third Baptist Church hosts Christmas Extravaganza

  • Marion Third Baptist Church member Donna Chamness was busy readying her table for the annual Christmas Extravaganza, which is held in the church's family life center Saturday. The always popular holiday event featured 20 such tables, each decorated and set up primarily by the ladies of the church. According to Amy Petrowich, president of the Women's Ministry group, sponsors of the event, approximately 140 women turned out this year for the brunch, silent auction, entertainment and chance to purchase homemade craft items.

  • Laura Thomas, left, and Leanna Schnautz were making sure that their table was attractive for Saturday's annual Christmas Extravaganza at Marion's Third Baptist Church, which featured a tasty brunch, live musical entertainment, a silent auction and more as a fundraiser for the women's ministry at the church. According to that group's current president Amy Petrovich, "We had another nice turnout and raised $2,700 this year. That money will be used to help finance foreign mission trips by our church members in the coming new year."
