HARRISBURG -- Diners marveled over their selections Sunday night at the Harrisburg First Presbyterian Church Annex before feasting on the traditional Lebanese dinner prepared by Ghada Abdo.
Indeed, the Lebanese feast lived up to its name, as traditionally prepared tabbouleh, hummus, baba ghanoush, chicken kebab, kafteh, rice, pita and homemade baklava graced each table.
Abdo and other volunteers had spent much of the day prior preparing food and the annex for Sunday's event, which appeared to be a sold-out fundraiser for the annex.
"This is truly an amazing dinner," Michael Tison of Harrisburg said. "I think everyone here tonight is very impressed."
The baklava, a traditional sweet dinner pastry, seemed to be a particular favorite, with many remarking in wonder at the delicate, flaky crust.
