Hundreds of Rend Lake College students and scholarship donors met Oct. 19 at the Benton Civic Center for the 28th-annual Rend Lake College Foundation Scholarship Dinner.

Kay Zibby-Damron, RLC Foundation CEO, said the event is a great way to highlight donor charity and student success, but also focus on the need for more scholarships.

"As the cost of community college goes up, there are more and more students who need help with their tuition, books and supplies," Zibby-Damron said. "We are working to increase the number of scholarships available to students."

During the 2017-18 academic year, the RLC Foundation has awarded nearly $200,000 in scholarships to Rend Lake College students.
