Signups for Upward Soccer -- part of Upward Sports, the world's largest Christian sports league for children -- are now open.
Registration can be taken anytime, but a special signup hour and evaluation is being held from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16 at Steeleville Baptist Church, 1315 W. Shawneetown Trail, Steeleville. Upward Sports teaches sports fundamentals in an environment of healthy competition, helping kids to develop skills for the sports arena and values for life.
Steeleville Baptist offers soccer for kids from age 4 through 6th grade, with weekly practices starting at 5 p.m. on Aug. 23. Games begin on Saturday, Sept. 9. Players must have been 4 years old by Jan. 1, 2017 to qualify.
Cost is $75 for both fall and spring or $55 for the fall session only, until Aug. 16. After Aug. 16 the fee is $80 for both fall and spring or $60 for the fall only session.
