HARRISBURG -- Harrisburg's annual comic book convention saw a large crowd show up for a day of comics, cosplay and gaming, all while raising money for a good cause.

Organizer Scott Reed said attendance was estimated at about 600 to 650 people, with about $350 plus two tables of food donations collected for Saline County 4C's food pantry.

Children and adults alike enjoyed the annual cosplay contest, featuring character portrayals from a wide variety of comics, TV shows and movies.

Reed said more than 1,500 comic books were given away, which is a regular promotion for the event.
