Benton ushers in the Christmas season

Kenny Richardson and his "sleigh" were a hit with guests at the 2017 Festival of Lights in Benton last Friday. Richardson fitted the lighted sleigh around an ATV to join in the festivities, even giving free rides to those waiting on the arrival of Santa.

Volunteers spent last week decorating the courthouse lawn in the spirit of Norman Rockwell, complete with a tree farm. A crowd of about 400 milled about the Benton Square Friday evening to enjoy the decorations.

Easton Hicks could barely take in the lights and festivities at Friday's Festival of Lights in Benton. Holding tightly to his parents Brooke and Mitch, the almost-two-year-old Easton had his eyes on everything while waiting on the arrival of Santa. TheThompsonville family was attending the event for the first time. "We're making memories," said Brooke.
