'Annie Jr.' coming to Thompsonville

  • It may be a hard-knock life, but Thompsonville freshman Chloe Mays made it look easy during Monday's dress rehearsal. Mays, pictured here with eigth-grader Aaron Wade as 'Sandy,' was in character as the lovable orphan Annie and rehearsing the signature song 'Tomorrow' from the Broadway hit. The Thompsonville Schools Drama Department will present 'Annie Jr.' at 7 p.m. March 31 to April 1 at Community of Christ Church in Thompsonville. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for ages 4 to 17, and free to those age 3 and under. The show is directed by junior high social studies teacher Kim Ward. This will mark Ward's directorial debut, but she is no stranger to the stage, having acted in several productions at Johnston City High School.
