Employers looking to fill positions at JALC job fair

Gander Mountain will remain open at Marion location
MARION - The Marion location of Gander Mountain will remain open, despite the company's decision to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Friday. Gander Mountain is the nation's largest retail network of outdoor specialty items for hunters, fishermen and campers, including firearms and ammunition. It also features outdoor apparel and footwear.

Mount Vernon elevator maker moves into bigger quarters
Phoenix Modular Elevator's new 25,000-square-foot manufacturing plant is the first tenant of Mount Vernon's new industrial park, south of Route 15 and west of I-64. The company says it outgrew its old location in a former shoe factory in the middle of Mount Vernon.

Dear Dave, We have three preschool-age grandchildren, and they get tons of stuff for Christmas every year. We're in really good shape financially and would like to do something for their future this year instead of giving a toy that might get thrown in the corner. Do you have any suggestions?

GateHouse sells 12 Southern Illinois papers to Paddock Publications
GateHouse Media LLC announced Tuesday plans to sell several daily and weekly newspapers in Southern Illinois to Paddock Publications Inc., based in Arlington Heights. The sale, expected to be finalized Thursday, includes five daily newspapers and seven weekly newspapers in seven counties.
