PERRY COUNTY -- Dan and Michelle Breslin of Pinckneyville, who own Red Hawk Golf Course, located just east of Pinckneyville, told club members this week in a newsletter that they plan to sell the business.

"Michelle and I want to inform you of our future plans," the letter reads. "We are not planning on moving back to Florida. Our girls will be going to college locally and we wish to stay close to them and follow their future golf careers. However, we are interested in eventually selling the golf course.

"Ideally, we would like to sell Michelle's 50 percent equity in the golf course and I would still manage the club like I have for the past 13 years. That may not be possible. We want everyone to understand that all memberships, events and functions will be honored and hosted without any complications. We will negotiate that with the prospective buyers."

Dan Breslin said the selling process may take some time and the couple will make sure the new owners will be a good fit.

"While I have thoroughly enjoyed managing the golf course, my family has had to make sacrifices and I would like more freedom to explore new opportunities with them," he said.
