ELDORADO -- Ferrell Hospital CEO Alisa Coleman was elected to the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network's board of directors at its annual member meeting on November 14 in Champaign.

Coleman will support the organization and its mission to strengthen and provide assistance and resources to its 55 member hospitals in her new role.

"I am excited about working with Alisa in the coming year," ICAHN Executive Director Pat Schou said. "She has already very successfully served as our Issues Committee Chair and has a pulse on what is needed now in health care and almost more importantly, what is expected in the future. We greatly welcome her experience and expertise."

Accomplishments at Ferrell Hospital include an expansion of the general surgery program at Ferrell Hospital, the addition of digital mammography, continuation of the pain clinic that opened in 2015, and recruitment of needed primary care physicians and nurse practitioners.

Plans for 2018 include a construction and modernization project of $30 million and expansion of a rural health clinic in Carmi.

Coleman graduated from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky. with a bachelor of science degree and a master's degree in health care administration.

She is an active member of American College of Healthcare Executives, sits on various professional committees, represents Ferrell Hospital on the Illinois Hospital Insurance Provider Trust, is past Chair of the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network Wellness Committee 2016, and she served most recently as the Issues Chair from 2016-2017.

She also is an active member of the Eldorado Rotary Club and a member of the Saline County Chamber of Commerce.
