CARTERVILLE -- Jalen Perry scored 28 points to lead the John A. Logan College men's basketball team to a 92-70 win over Lincoln Trail on Saturday.

Perry was 11-of-15 from the field, including 5-of-8 from 3-point land, and had 16 points in the first half.

A buzzer-beater by Perry gave Logan a 41-33 at the half, then Perry extended the lead when he hit four straight triples to make it 66-51 with just over 12 minutes remaining.

The Volunteers, who were 13 of 29 shooting 3-pointers as a team, had three other players in double figures as every player on the squad scored. Will Robinson and Chad Culbreath each scored 13 points while Jerome Davis added 11. Allen Billinger had eight and Emile Lewis had five with a team-high seven rebounds.

Logan (22-6 overall, 13-3 in the GRAC) won for the 12th time in the last 13 games and stayed in first place in the conference with two games left.

In the women's game, Logan overcame a five-point deficit in the final minute to defeat Lincoln Trail, 59-58, to improve to 14-11 overall and 10-6 in the league.

Trailing 58-53 going into the final minute, the Lady Vols got a basket by Tiauanna Watkins and a 3-pointer by Miriah Donelson to tie the score at 58 with 32 seconds remaining. After a Lincoln Trail turnover, Watkins was fouled and sank the winning free throw with nine seconds left.
