  • Friends will meet for fun, food and entertainment during the 10th annual Christopher Homecoming being held in Bill Dennison Memorial Park.
    The five day event begins with the opening of the beer garden at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29. Carnival rides by Brady's Amusements begin at 5 p.m., followed by cornhole and bean bag throw tournaments at the bocce ball court at 6:30 p.m.
    Mayor Gary Bartolotti will give his welcome address at 6:50 p.m. on the main stage, followed by the presentation of colors and a variety show from 7 to 8:30 p.m. featuring a one of a kind gender bender pageant in the beer garden.
    Hicks & Banks will perform from 7 to 10:30 p.m.
    On Thursday, May 30 beer garden opens followed by the opening of carnival rides and the women's bocce ball tournament at 5 p.m. A flag retirement ceremony will be conducted at 5:45 p.m.
    The Venturis, formerly 4 on the Floor take the main stage from 6:30 to 8 p.m, while The Rich Fabec Band performs in the beer garden from 7 to 11 p.m.
    The fun continues with the opening of the beer garden at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 31, carnival rides at 5 p.m. and Breeden, Bradley * Maze on the main stage at 7:30 p.m. The Holdouts will perform from 7 to 11 p.m. in the beer garden.
    Saturday, June 1 is filled with the Lions Club pancake breakfast in the Christopher Civic Center from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Registration for the 5K run-walk will be held from 7 to 7:45 a.m., with the run-walk starting at 8 a.m.
    Men's bocce ball follows at 9 a.m., with the beer garden opening at 10 a.m. Registration for the car show will be held from 10 a.m. to noon.
    A bicycle rodeo for kids 10 and under begins at 10:30 a.m. with two new bikes being awarded to the winners. Kids olympics for kindergarten to eighth graders includes frozen tee shirts, Big Bearcat, pie throwing, pterodactyl dinosaur and more. Prizes include carnival rides tickets.
    Car show judging will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. An all class reunion will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Christopher Civic Center.
    The bocce ball championship game will be held at 1 p.m., with a washers tournament beginning at 2 p.m. followed by the car show awards ceremony.
    Matt Basler will perform from 2 to 5 p.m. in the beer garden, with cow patty bingo at 3 p.m. The Shakey Jake Band will perform from 7 to 11 p.m. in the beer garden.
    The Egyptian Combo will perform from 7 to 10 p.m. on the main stage.
    Sunday's entertainment begins with the National Anthem performed by First Christian Church, an ice cream social from 1 to 3 p.m. and gospel music by Samatha Pinkham and The Shepherdsmen Quartet from 1 to 3 p.m. Don't forget your lawn chairs.
    Page 2 of 2 - Parking is available at Route 14 and Pyramid Road across from Christ View Church and in the church's parking lot.
    Food vendors include homecoming fish sandwiches, barbecue by Scott Coffel, and the fire department's famous corn on the cob.
    Bill Wyatt is providing the nightly sound and lighting equipment for homecoming festivities.
