  • Local defendants sentenced in circuit court

  • Franklin County State’s Attorney Evan L. Owens reports the following defendants were sentenced in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
     
     
    • On Dec. 7, Aron S. Prosise, 29, of Zeigler received a 30-month sentence for domestic battery (enhanced sentence), which occurred on Sept. 15, 2012.
     
     
    Concurrent to that sentence, Prosise will serve a 30-month sentence for criminal trespass to a residence, which occurred on June 26, 2012.
     
     
    The sentences will be followed by a one-year period of mandatory supervised release.
     
     
    The Zeigler and Christopher police departments investigated the cases.
     
     
    • On Dec. 11, Renee T. Sanders, 29, of Ewing received a three-year sentence followed by a one-year period of mandatory supervised release for unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, which occurred on Jan. 1, 2012.
     
     
    The Ewing Police Department investigated the case.
     
     
    • On Dec. 11, Robert L. Shreeve, 23, of Creal Springs received a two-year sentence followed by a one-year period of mandatory supervised release for aggravated fleeing a police officer on Sept. 27, 2008.
     
     
    The West Frankfort Police Department investigated the case.
     
     
    • On Dec. 14, Shanon N. Armes, 27, of Benton received a 30-month sentence with a one-year period of mandatory supervised release for retail theft, which occurred on Sept. 11, 2012.
     
     
    The West City and Benton police departments investigated the case.
     
     
    • On Dec. 14, Levi J. Diuguid, 21, of Benton received a six year sentence with a two-year period of mandatory supervised release for burglary, which occurred on Aug. 14, 2011.
     
     
    The Benton Police Department investigated the case.
     
     
    • Samantha A. Seiler, 21, of Cambria received a five-year sentence with a two-year period of mandatory supervised release for aggravated driving under the influence of drugs, intoxicating compounds or any combination thereof, which occurred on Jan. 5, 2012.
     
     
    The Christopher Police Department, Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and Illinois State Police investigated the case.
     
     
    • Douglas L. Johnson, 41, of West Frankfort, received a 22-year sentence for robbery, which occurred on March 25, 2012.
     
     
    Concurrent to that sentence, Johnson will serve a 22-year sentence for burglary, which also occurred on March 25, 2012. The sentences will be followed by a three-year period of mandatory supervised release.

    • Jason L. Kelley, 34, of Thompsonville received a 30-month sentence for driving while license revoked, which occurred on June 10, 2012.
     
     
    Concurrent to that sentence, Kelley will serve a 30-month sentence for theft over $200, which occurred on Nov. 26, 2010.
     
     
    The sentences will be followed with a one-year period of mandatory supervised release.
     
     
    The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department investigated the cases.
     
     
    • Amanda M. Hale, 33, of Colp received a three year sentence for deceptive practice, which occurred on Nov. 14, 2012.
     
     
    Concurrent to that sentence, Hale will serve a three-year sentence for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, which occurred on Sept. 23, 2010. The sentences will be followed by a one-year period of mandatory supervised release.
     
     
    The West Frankfort Police Department investigated the cases.
     
     
    • On Jan. 3, David W. Dixon, 30, of Mulkeytown received a two-year sentence with a one-year period of mandatory supervised release for unlawful failure to register as a sex offender, which occurred on Nov. 13, 2012.
     
     
    The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department investigated the case.
