Barbara Ann Garner, 77, of Sesser passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012. at home.
Funeral services will be at noon on Saturday, Feb. 18, in Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser with Chad Wilkins officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery in Sesser. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to the Sesser-Valier Athletic Department and will be accepted at the funeral home.
She was born Jan. 9, 1935, in Nason, the daughter of Charles and Malissa (Willis) McGovern.
She was married to Don Garner for 61 years, and he survives in Sesser.
Survivors include children, Lonnie and Cheryl Garner of Sesser, Danny Garner of Colorado, Jayne and Larry Pettit of Benton, and Dawn Garner of Sesser; grandchildren, Laura and Mike Mayer of Herrin, Craig Garner and fiancé Melodee Lewis of Sesser, Kristen and Kent Zimmer of Herrin, Shane and Bethany Garner of Sesser, Justin and Ashley Dickey of Sesser and Drew Pettit of Sesser; great-grandchildren, Maty Garner, Jaycee Garner, Haydon Mayer, Kagney Zimmer, Josie Zimmer and Emmalyn Dickey; and sisters, Norma Hall of Nason and Anna Ruth Boner and friend Jerry of Benton.
Mrs. Garner attended the First Baptist Church in Sesser and was a homemaker.
Her parents; a sister, Charlene Tepovich; daughter-in-law, Debbie Garner; and three brothers-in-law, Kenny Hall, Bob Baumgarte and Chuck Boner, preceded Mrs. Garner in death.
