Leslie A. Webb, 70, of Sesser died Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.


A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, at the Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser, officiated by Brother Bill Hottensen. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.


Leslie was born May 22, 1940, in Sesser, the son of John Allen and Ruby (Harmon) Webb. He married Nancy (Rhynes) Webb on June 24, 1961.


Mr. Webb was a farmer and retired coal miner, working 32 years for Inland Steel and Con Sol mines. He was a member of the UMWA and Bear Point Baptist Church in Sesser.


He is survived by his children, Gregory and Cindy (Bullock) Webb, James Webb, John and Penny (Hottensen) Webb and Mark Webb; grandchildren, Heather Renee and Jaime Anderson, Samantha Webb, Cody Webb, Nathan Webb, Heather Suzanne and Tad Morgan, Luke Webb and Lane Webb; great-grandchildren, Clayton Lee, Austin Allen, with Ayden Riley expected in September; siblings, Geraldine Eubanks, Shirley Miller and Connie Kelly; and mother-in-law, Velmalee Rhynes.


He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rita Hargo; two granddaughters, Lorie Ann and Andrea Lynn Webb; father-in-law, Ernest Rhynes; and brother-in-law, Bill Kelly.
